Introducción -- Por qué demonios he creado este blog?!?!

This site is mostly for me -- o sea, my questions, confusions, "discoveries" that I have or have had at some point about Spanish and English. Maybe some of what I write is incorrect, da igual! Correct me! Here I will be exploring linguistics. I find myself EVERY single day, several times a day, asking myself "why do you say this and not this?" or "how in the world could you say this?" I find myself to be a very curious person, in terms of my own acquisition of Spanish and frequently am comparing Spanish and English.

What I write here will be a mezcla de Spanish and English. Eso NO quiere decir "Spanglish". But it's just that as these thoughts and questions come to me, sometimes I work them out in Spanish, sometimes in English, and it's just easier to sort them out if I do it naturally instead of trying to translate. However, if you don't understand Spanish AND English, it might be a bit difficult to follow some of the entries.

I doubt there will be too many people who read this site, pero tampoco me molesta tanto! What I really want to do es ir desarrollando una página, un lugar (que no sea mi propio cerebro) en el que puedo intentar organizar todas estas preguntas, dudas, etc. Y algún día, quizás encuentre las respuestas :)

I'd love any input. If I say something that's completely incorrect, tell me. Correct me. Enlighten me, please. I know my Spanish isn't perfect. I know that my knowledge of linguistics is underdeveloped. But it DOES interest me. Probably too much. The name of the URL actually comes from a nickname that someone gave me when he realized how much I love Spanish grammar, linguistics and the language in general. I'm not trying to be an expert here -- probably the opposite. But I'm sure along the way I will learn something, so it has to be a good thing, right?
